The Return of the Slingback

I've been seeing bloggers wear the shit out of slingbacks recently and I wholeheartedly believe this was brought on by the Dior slingback (below):

(They can only be bought in Dior boutiques and I'm sure you're wondering about the price. I've seen anywhere from $850- $1500 USD...so, sorry for not being helpful at all.)

To be honest, I wasn't super on board with the Dior shoe when it first came out, namely because of the heel. I prefer my heels to be very straight (LIKE THESE) and I typically turn my nose up at heels that are curved. However, the little ribbon and the pointed toe, le sigh...I think I'm warming up to the idea of the curved heel.

That said, the Chanel ones have also come back, with the block heel and a rounded, cap toe:

I mean these are pretty Grandma if you ask me but then again, I feel like that's sort of the appeal. They're just so cool girl.

Recently, I've found myself reaching for shoes that require little to zero effort to put on. I am so over fuxing with teeny tiny buckles, wrapping my ankle with leather strap and retying them during the day, ugh...I just want to pull on my shoe or slide my foot in and GFTO. Therefore, this style is perfect for my laziness as of late. And I like the height of the heel. It's wearable and walkable but can still class up a pair of jeans and a white tee.

Like for example, look at Sofi Fahrman in the Dior slingbacks:

And Aimee Song in the Chanel's:

And Jacey Duprie in her Ganni slingbacks:

JUST. SO. EASY.

Peep the clickable photo below (the Ganni slingbacks are included and a crazy good Chanel copy on the bottom right...for CHEAP):

BRB going to buy these Zara ones rn:

(Linked 'em for ya. Hope they're still available by the time you read this!)
