Detox Masks

So something I'm admittedly really bad about working into my weekly skin routine is a detox mask. I think I'm turned off by them because they're really drying and with my already dry skin, I don't need anything else exacerbating it.
But I just have to get over myself because detox masks are a must. You need something to clear out the crap that accumulated in your pores during the week; this prevents breakouts, clogged pores and blackheads.
So over the years I've tried a few detox masks and most of them were meh and only one really wowed me.
So let's start with the ones that were only so-so and that I of course, returned (peep a previous blog post on why I always return things I don't immediately fall in love with, especially beauty and skincare products HERE)
So this Origins Charcoal Mask gets really great reviews online so I snagged myself a bottle. I applied, waited, rinsed off and was thoroughly unimpressed. My skin looked the same and my pores looked just as clogged. Returned.

Next I tried a detox mask from Caudalie, which calls itself an Instant Detox Mask. Spoiler alert: it wasn't and it was returned.
Then I happened upon this little jar of pure magic, below. Glamglow's Supermud Clearing treatment. And you guys, when I say it's magic, I'm actually being dead serious. I've never used a mask that I've seen such immediate results from.
However, it's pricey, at $69. (The other two are around 30-40 bucks). But man, I'm telling you, it's worth it.

Take a peek at the mask in action, above. See those dark dots on my nose and chin? THAT'S OIL BEING SUCKED OUT OF MY PORES. How disgusting yet utterly satisfying is that?
And take a look at this before and after of my nose.

(Apologies for the shitty iphone camera phone pic, this is the best I could do.)
So, moral of the story is that if you're looking for an effective detox weekly mask, I HIGHLY suggest this Glamglow one. BUT just remember to use actually use it on a weekly/regular basis. The last jar I had of this, I stupidly cherished it so much that I didn't use it as much as I should have and the last third dried up in the jar. I was so annoyed.
Oh and by the way, the Biore pore strips, at least for me, don't work as well as this mask. Even though they're definitely cheaper, I appreciate the added skincare ingredients that the Glamglow mask provides.
So: any detox masks you guys have tried and loved? Have you tried this Glamglow one?
