A Plum, Cool Toned Blush (and why you need it)

So many people get hella scared of darker blushes in that they think it's going to look insane on their fair(er) skin (than mine). But I'm telling you, it PERFECTLY mimics the flush you get:
1. after being on the beach all day
2. after taking a quick jog in the fall weather
The cool tones of a plum shade of blush work magic.
But how you apply it makes a huge difference. This isn't a throw on an go blush, you gotta be careful because it can look clown-ish real quick.
Here's a pic of me with no filter wearing Nars in Seduction:

Natural, right?
Here's what the blush looks like IRL:

Scary, right? I mean, when I first applied it I went HAM and I looked insane. Then I realized if you apply these sort of colors with a stippling brush (like this one HERE) and sweep some product off the brush first and THEN apply, you can then build the color, rather than having to worry about taking it off when there's too much.
A quick tip if you find yourself wearing way too much after applying: take the beauty blender or foundation brush you just used and pat over top the blush. It will blend it down without taking off any foundation underneath. (You may already know this; I feel like this is a makeup tip for 7 year olds but then again, I'm psycho and you might not be as pyscho as me.)
Another shade that was mentioned in my Glossier Review post (peep it HERE) was the Cloud Paint in Haze (buy it HERE).
But really, any plum, cool toned shade of blush will work. Just make sure you don't rush when you apply it and you have the right tools.
