Dream Hair with Drugstore Dry Shampoo

If you follow Byrdie Beauty, Elle.com, or InStyle on facebook, you've probably seen the video of celeb haistylist Laura Polko doing a video tutorial on how to get her messy, undone hair. That video is HERE. And after watching that video, I low key wanna be her/have a huge girl crush on her.
Her insta and the look she gives us a tutorial for is 👇🏼 :
(and side note: DAMN did she get some followers from that video. First time I saw this video a couple months ago, gf had like 5K followers. Now she has 60K+)
So that right up there👆🏼 is my dream hair style and texture (I prefer my hair shorter.)
In the video she uses two Aussie Hair products and I was actually pretty shocked because...drugstore? Really? (But then I did some googling and she's a brand ambassador for Aussie. So ok, this is making more sense.)
However, I loved the result it gave her so I popped into my local CVS and figured I'd give that Aussie dry shampoo a shot (she also used their hairspray but I didn't buy that). The worst that can happen is that I don't like it, you know? (I did keep the receipt in case it sucked. On principle, you know how I feel about returning things, in that I *have* no feelings *or* pride when it comes to returning things and would happily return a bottle of product that was 5 bucks.)
So here's the dry shampoo:
The way she uses it isn't to refresh the hair or "clean" it; she uses it specifically to bulk up her hair towards the root to give it volume. So if you've used a texturizing spray, that's how she's using it.
And here's my hair after using it and styling it:

I already own Oribe's Dry Texturizing Spray which as the name suggests, is specifically used for adding texture and volume to the hair:
And I thought I liked it (it does smell incredible) but then compared to the Aussie one, I'm reaching for the Oribe one less and less. Plus, the Oribe one is straight up 10x more expensive than the Aussie spray. (No seriously, it's 45 bucks.)
The Aussie spray just does a better job of bulking up and volumizing my hair at the roots and keeping it nice and thick looking. And there's no white residue left like Batiste Dry Shampoo or Living Proof Dry Shampoo (I actually don't mind the white residue but that's only because I usually use dry shampoo at night before I go to bed.) However, neither the Living Proof nor the Batiste one do as good of a job volumizing my hair and keeping it volumized.
And truth be told, the Oribe makes my hair kinda greasy the next day, which the Aussie one doesn't do. I guess because it's an actual dry shampoo and therefore is *meant* to soak up oil and grease.
Either way, I was super impressed with the Aussie Dry Shampoo used as a texturizing spray and highly recommend it to anyone with fine hair. The only thing I don't love about it is the scent; it's a bit too sweet for my liking. But truth be told, the scent fades really quickly so that wasn't a deal breaker for me.
Do you guys use a texturizing spray? If so, which ones are good?
