A few weeks ago I was approached by a company who wanted me to try their hair products. They are a new company, only about 6 months old, started by a gentleman who's been in the hair care industry for over 20 years, having worked at some super big brands. I had a call with the owner and president who told me about their line and I liked what I heard so I was pretty excited for the products to arrive.

Fast forward a couple days, I got 'em. I was sent:

shampoo

conditioner

salt spray

smoothing product

leave in conditioner

hair spray

hair mask

And obvi because I have no patience, even though I washed my hair the day before and I never usually wash two days in a row, I tried as many products as I possibly could on the first go. And since then, I've been using most of the products separately along with my normal hair products and together as the full line, so I can get a good sense of which products work best for my thin, frizzy, non color treated hair.

So let's start with the basics:

The packaging: not my aesthetic, truth be told. But, then again, packaging isn't what is going to make my hair look and feel the way I want it to.

Price point: very accessible. Only a little higher than drugstore but much better ingredients.

The scent: Really nice, very spa like and light. Nothing overbearing or headache-y.

So ok cut to the chase, did they work or what: Let's go product by product, shall we?

The shampoo: it's sulfate free, which I really like but also means that it's more difficult to lather than shampoos that contain sulfate. Scent is nice and it didn't leave my hair feeling stripped (which is a huge pet peeve of mine with shampoos). Would I buy this after I finish it? Probably not. It's nice but I'm not head over heels for it.

Conditioner: really good for my fine hair. Didn't weigh it down like most conditioners tend to do but also provided enough moisture where my hair didn't feel dry as the desert (I'm looking at YOU, Sebastian Volupt) Could see myself purchasing this after I finish it.

Salt Spray: It worked like a sea salt spray was supposed to. Didn't make my hair feel overly dirty/texturized like some I've used in the past and gave it a nice grit and volume. It just doesn't do anything incredibly different or way better than other salt sprays I've used. BUT it was definitely less expensive than the bottle I just finished.

Hair Spray: again, another product that worked like it was supposed to, but for me, wasn't anything that blew my mind.

Smoothing Elixir: Ok so now we're getting to the good stuff. Historically I've always stayed away from smoothing products because I have crazy wavy-not-in-a-good-way/frizzy hair, these type of products *always* weigh down my fine hair. Every single one I've tried. As in, greasy mess at the end of the day. And this one added no weight to my hair and did smooth my frizz. So suffice to say, I don't know what magic juice they put in this product but it's really. Really. Good.

Leave in Conditioner: again, another product I really liked. Similar to smoothing products, I'm never been one for leave in conditioners because again with the fine hair and the weighing down. But this one, even paired *with* the smoothing elixir, my hair feels...weightless. I never usually wear product in my hair on an everyday basis because I've just never found products that don't weigh my fine hair down, but these feel like I have negative 2 products in...my hair is light and airy and shiny but most importantly, doesn't look like I slathered my head with oil at the end of the day. And usually with most hair care products, I have to use a dry shampoo before bed unless I want to wake up like a greasy mess but these don't do that? It's weird cause like, I *remember* putting the products on but my hair doesn't feel like I have any in, so...I mean, I guess that's the point, right?

Hair Mask: Another serious winner. I am still astonished that I used the hair mask and the leave in conditioner PLUS the smoothing elixir AND a mousse (not from this line) and I don't feel like there's any product in my hair.

So, did I LOVE the whole line? No. But did I really love *some* of the products? Yeah, I actually did. And if you live in the Baltimore/DC area like moi, you'll be pleased to know that they're a local company. Cause, support local businesses, right?
