Material World Box Service

So I'm scrolling on the 'gram and came across a sponsored post and I almost scrolled past it until I read "designer consignment clothing". If you have been following le blog, you know I am ALL about pre-owned, both for bags and clothing. I am constantly browsing on therealreal.com when I'm bored and I get the biggest thrill out of finding an amazing piece for what is no joke, a fraction of the price.
I clicked on the Material World sponsored post and read that they are basically a monthly service that costs $25 a month (and you can pause it or cancel it whenever) that ships you designer consignment clothing based on your preferences. The $25 you've paid goes towards any purchase you want to make. So, I read some reviews and saw that they were a legit company so I whipped my card out, entered my info, prayed I wouldn't get my identity stolen given I'm inputting my cc info into a IG sponsored post (MOM DON'T GET MAD AT ME I HAVE NO WILLPOWER) and filled out a questionnaire based on my style, preferences and sizes. It was pretty in depth but I was still skeptical. A couple weeks later, my box arrived.
There were five pieces included and I've gone ahead and made your day by posting unedited pics in unflattering lighting of myself wearing them.
First up is this Frame denim shirt.

The sleeve silhouette and collar details made this a no go for me, but I AM in the market for a new denim shirt, so I was impressed with the first choice in that it wasn't completely off the mark. This was $50.
Next was a Tibi spaghetti strap tank. Quality was excellent and I loved the fabric. It was really unique in how it shimmered. And the color was perfectly neutral for my taste:

To test it out, I paired it with a white blazer I already own (from Zara. Because obviously)

But this one was also a no go for me for a couple reasons. I don't really wear shirts like this very often and 2, Alex walked by and goes, "That looks like a shirt you'd wear only to go out in." And I replied, "Wait, you mean this looks like a "going out shirt"?" And he said Yes and then I was like, yeah I'm not buying this. (I'm against anything that looks going out-y or Vegas-y or flashy). Plus I don't love that look of spaghetti strap and blazer, it looks really business causal to me, even paired with leather leggings and PVC shoes. This shirt was $55.
Next up was a pair Tibi flat slides whose shape I really liked but the full on gold with the buckle was too much for my taste. These were $104.

Then I unwrapped something much heavier than everything else; it was black and I obviously got a fashion boner because heavy = good quality and black because...it's black.

LOOK AT THAT BOMBER JACKET, Y'ALL. (ooo sorry for the dirty mirror).
The quality on this jacket is incredible. Like I mentioned, it's heavy, quilted on the inside, really warm, the perfect fit but my favorite feature is the fabric. I took a picture of it in better light so you could see:

It's like this stretchy, woven pile of WONDER that I just want to wear forever. This bomber will be coming with me on every trip that involves a plane ride (for warmth and also because it's chic and really comfortable) and because it's a bomber, I can dress it up with a pair of leather leggings like I'm doing above, or down, with a pair of jeans. And although I already have a black bomber, this is much warmer than the one I own and I will get more use out of this one. Either way, I'm thrilled with it. Oh and also! This is a designer I've never heard of before, but is on Revolve, Intermix and Shopbop. Torn by Ronny Kobo. I looked the label up and it looks like they have really nice, high end, great quality basics. This was $80 bucks but the $25 I already paid goes towards this.
Lastly, was a pair of super soft Vince culottes:

I definitely didn't hate them. They were super comfortable but I'm not the biggest fan of culottes, especially since I'm so short. These were $50 bucks.
So all in all, I was pretty impressed with what the stylists picked out for me based on the quiz I took. I am not the biggest fan of box services for clothing because I truly to love the hunt, but I'll get this again. Maybe not every month, more like a few times a year.
So, if you're into high end consignment, you should check the box service out HERE.
So tell me, have you heard of this company? Are/were you skeptical of monthly boxes services too?
