There was once a time when I preached high and mighty on my soapbox saying that I would never, in a million years, pay more than Marshalls or TJ Maxx prices for workout clothes.
Well.
I take it back.
While at my bestie Heather's house (yes, the same one who turned me on to the low calorie and high fiber tortillas, read that blog post HERE) she was raving about her Athleta yoga pants. She thrust her yoga panted leg in my face and was like, "FEEL." And I did and I gotta say, It was buttery. Buttery asf.
So I went to Athelta, preparing myself to roll my eyes and think they were super over priced and put 'em on and was like...OH OKKKKK. They felt so light and I felt so sucked in but not like I couldn't breathe and they felt like I was wearing *nothing*. But the 80+ dollar price tag held me back and I couldn't do it, so out I walked. However, over the course of that week, I could not stop thinking about how amazing those effing pants felt on my bod and so the following weekend, I set out and had every intention of spending almost 100 bucks on a pair of pants I would only wear when sweating profusely like a man and not feeling cute at all and honestly it just goes against all of my beliefs but THAT IS HOW GOOD THESE PANTS ARE. (FWIW, I don't typically wear work out clothes out of the house unless I'm actually going to work out)
Luckily for me, there was a sale going on and I got TWO pairs of black Athleta yoga pants (because of course. I can't do color just yet) for a little over 100 bucks instead of 80+ for one pair. YAHTZEEEE.
These are the pants:
Like, in the photo, nothing to write home about. But it's the fit and the fabric that I cannot get over.
I went to Lululemon and tried on a pair of similar pants (that were more expensive) and I much prefer the fabric of the Athleta ones. The fit was similar but Athleta was better.
So guys. I take it back. I now, totally and completely understand why people are comfortable spending 100 bucks + on clothes to work out in. It's just a nicer experience.
Anyway, I will slowly be replacing my stack of yoga pants with Athleta ones, specifically the ones made out of the Powervita fabric. The style above is the Sun Salutation 7/8 length.
Just trust me and go in an Athleta store and try them on and I bet you will love them as much as I do.
So tell me, do you have a favorite brand of work out clothes? Tell me everything. 👇🏼
