I Need to Buy More Uniqlo

I was recently at my bff's birthday party and caught up with her awesome sisters, one of whom works in fashion and whose style is very cool; effortless, minimal, not flashy. Obvi I loved her outfit: a dark olive gray bomber jacket, black pants, black shirt, and Stan Smiths. I asked where her bomber was from and she said, "Uniqlo, and it was $39.99." My first thought, "How have I not blogged about Uniqlo yet." So here we are.
Because there are no stand alone Uniqlo stores near me, I just never think to buy from them. But the few pieces I do have from them have lasted like crazy and were so inexpensive. Because they're a Japanese based, they are all about that minimal lyfe. Which of course, gives me a fashion boner.
Here are some pieces I have in my cart as of last night because I'm crazy:
Camel cashmere crewneck for less than 80 bucks...uh, yeah.
This gray wool blend bomber:
This chic winter white long puffer coat:
This fitted stretch cotton black oxford:
I love the ruffles and neckline on this collab they're doing with Ines De Le Fressange:
This plaid print you'll be seeing everywhere this fall:
Re pants, nothing really struck me. Most of their stuff is great for a business casual environment and as I work in a casual environment, I don't really fux with tailored pants, which is a lot of what they carry. And because I am so short with no waist, I'm not even going to try their jeans.
Lastly, I find with this brand that if you incorporate one piece into your outfit, you can look super chic. But if your whole outfit is Uniqlo, it may err on the side of Ann Taylor and less fashun. Kinda like if your whole house is Ikea, it can look cheap and college-y, but if you incorporate one or two pieces and mix it in with other brands, it can look much more upscale.
Ok that's my two cents. Does anyone wanna come to Uniqlo with me? The closest one to my house is a mere hour and 16 minutes away 😑
