Ok so this has nothing to do with what I usually blog about but I just really felt like I was doing you guys a disservice by not telling you about MY MAGICAL ALARM CLOCK.
Now, some of you reading this probably already know about it and maybe even already have it because I haven't been able to STFU about since we got it a few years ago.
I'm telling you; it has changed 👏🏼 my👏🏼 life 👏🏼
To be completely honest, I'm a morning person. But that doesn't mean it's like, easy for me to wake up and I jump out of bed so excited for the day to start. However, this alarm clock makes it SO MUCH EASIER to get up. But Alex is NOT a morning person and this really helps him. (In fact, when the light bulb went out, he kind of freaked out and found the replacement bulb on prime and ordered it immediately. We had to wake up two days in a row like a couple of commoners with our iphone alarms until the bulb arrived. It was hard.)
So ok here's why this thing is so good:
1. 30 minutes before the time is set to wake you up, it starts lighting up slowly, so by the time your alarm goes off, your room is bright and the light has already stirred you awake.
2. I wake up to THE SOUND OF BIRDS CHIRPING. It is the most wonderful way to wake up and I never feel jolted out of bed and I never, ever snooze.
Here is said magical alarm clock:
(Actually the one I have is more conical shaped and it was like 100 bucks but they don't make that version anymore and this one is slightly less expensive at about 83 bucks.)
In the winter time, when I have to get up and it's still pitch black out, this is a game changer. You guys. If you're using your iphone to wake up and you wake up in the dark, you need this. Or God forbid you're still using those old school alarm clocks with the red digital numbers that wake you up with a terrible, incredibly loud beeping sound...you poor poor thing. Just do yourself a favor, put this in your amazon.com cart and think about it when you wake up tomorrow morning hating life.
Also, it's returnable so if you get it and you're like, Wow Andrea is so extra this did not make a difference at all, you can get your money back.
And no, I'm not being sponsored by Philips although I so fucking would and I would walk around changing peoples' lives by telling them on this alarm clock. Also this isn't an affiliate link, either.
And FWIW, the reason I know about this is because Alex was telling me about how airports in Japan rent rooms out by the hour for people to sleep in during long layovers and the lighting in the room has this same function; it starts getting lighter 30 minutes before you wake up. And then he did some research and found out that they have it in alarm clocks. He's so smart 😻
