This one is gonna be short and sweet because I basically just need to tell you about the glory and magic that is Bag Balm:

So I've recently started a retinol serum and as my skin is still getting used to it, my lips have become so dry and chapped that I could barely even smile for fear of cracking my lips. Nothing would work and I tried all my go to's:

  • Aquaphor

  • Sleeping Masks

  • Medicated balms

  • Eczema ointment

  • Lucas Pawpaw Ointment

  • My $50 Cle de Peau balm

(And If anyone reading this is like, "Oh, did you try Eos or Burts Bees?" You clearly have never had super chapped and dry lips because those products are a gigantic waste of my time. I'm in the Big League of chapped lips. Those products are for JV players.)

So anyway, I was so uncomfortable and basically ran to CVS to get...SOMETHING. What, I didn't know yet. And then I happened upon a small green tube of Bag Balm. I'd heard it was made to soothe and heal dry and cracked cow udders so I was like, "Well it if works on those 😬 maybe it will work on me."

AND IT DID. I was amazed! And it worked quickly, too. Within an hour, I felt the dry skin on my lips soften, and I no longer felt that painful stinging sensation that I tend to get when my lips are so chapped it hurts. The consistency feels thicker than Aquaphor and it does have a bit of a scent that's not the greatest, TBH. Kinda like...rubber? But whatever, man. If it works, I DGAF what it smells like.

I don't know if I'll be using this all over my body because it has that ointment consistency but for dry lips or dry patches of skin, I'M IN.

Have you used this before? If so, would love to hear how you heard about it!
