If you've been paying any attention to the weather at all, you'll have noticed that the east coast is going through something called a Bomb Cyclone. Which is just a really dramatic way of saying it's really effing cold out with a bunch of wind and some snow.

That said, although I have a ton of great wool and faux fur jackets, none of them are keeping me warm enough, recently. I'm chilled to mah BONEZ. Maryland is just never a place that has sustained super cold weather for this long so I've never really needed a down jacket.

Now. As I am not usually an outdoor girl, I've really stayed away from spending any sort of money on clothing that I don't feel cute in ie...outdoor activities clothing. And frankly, I never thought I could feel cute in a good quality down jacket. Like, a fashun down jacket sure, but I'm not about to wear that on a hike, you know?

After doing some research, I realized that they could get suuuuper expensive. And I was not trying to pay hundreds of dollars for something I would only wear when it got EXTREMELY cold in the winter.

However, I found this one at REI. And it was only 99 bucks! By comparison, Patagonia's jacket that is almost exactly the same in style (although with more down filling per square inch meaning it could withstand colder climates) was over 250 bucks:

(I've linked it for you)

And y'all- it's SUPER warm. I don't feel like a fat hunchback in it and I've been wearing it non stop; walking the dogs, on the way to yoga, hungover to get brunch. Not to like, go out for drinks and dinner, it's a little too casual for that, but everywhere else. I'm just really really into it. And with a little knitted beanie...I feel real cute in it, guys.

That said, I've included some other really cute down jackets I've been eyeing. Some more expensive than others and some more fashun than others. I like the nuances of the different sheens, the zippers, the collars...I'm just really liking all of these.

So, because I'm ostensibly the last person to own a down jacket, I want to hear all about yours. Where did you get it? How do you dress it up or down? Tell me everything. I'm on a need to know basis, and I need to know.
