A Couple of Primers

I've never been a primer girl. I've always looked at it like another BS step in my makeup routine that I just don't have the time for.

That is, UNTIL I heard about this primer from Allana Davison (I've mentioned her before in a previous blog. *sigh* I love her.) Although she is so young with all of her 23(?) years, she has gorgeous skin. And she took Accutane so her skin is also suuuper dry. She wouldn't stop raving about and using this primer that I had to try it. I bought the travel size version at Ulta (because spending $15 bucks is easier than $42 on the full sized) and guys...I love it.

I'm going back to grad school to get my masters so I've been having days where I'm wearing makeup for like, 13 hours straight. From the gym in the morning to when I get home from class at 9pm and my makeup stays on, looks just as good as it did in the morning but the best part, my skin was still hydrated. Even with the best of facial sprays, it's tough to get through 13 hours of makeup and still look fresh.

It's marketed as a primer and moisturizer but my skin is too dry for that. However, I think it could be a great two-in-one product for oily and combo skin.

If you don't want to pull the $42 trigger for the full size, I definitely suggest the travel version. Although you're not getting the best bang for your buck, it's a great way to try this product.

THEN another primer I tried and wanted to mention was the Becca First Light Priming Filter. And frankly? I didn't notice a difference at all. I used it on half of my face to see how my skin looked at the end of the day and nada. It claims to brighten and even out skin tone and maybe my skin wasn't the best canvas for it, but I didn't see any positive effects from it.

I LOVE Becca as a company, I think they have some of the best powders on the market. And maybe I just didn't choose the best one for my skin, so I'm not swearing off Becca's primers in general. But this particular one for my skin tone and type? Nah.

Any primers that you absolutely love?
