So recently for Christmas, my mom got me a facial steamer (read more about why it's a total essential if you're a skincare psycho like me HERE) along with a couple of essential oils to use during the facial steam. She must have read my blog (or I told her, I forget which) because she got the two oils that I would have purchased for myself: rosehip oil and eucalyptus oil (rosehip for skincare benefits, eucalytpus for aromatherapy).

So I've started incorporating the Rosehip Oil in my skin care regime for the past few weeks and I am seriously loving it.

First off, here's the oil I use:

And if you've been following along le blog, you know that I've been having some skin issues as of late, specifically something called dermatitis around my nose and mouth. It's basically a form of rosacea and it really fucking sucks. It's calming down with antibiotics and a prescription cream but my skin is so hyper sensitive that now I'm left with a ton of dark spots where the dermatitis used to be.

My Vitamin C serum wasn't working as quickly as I wanted to fade these hyper-pigmentation spots so I started using this rosehip oil and, you guys. I'm really noticing a difference.

So ok, the benefits of rosehip oil are:

1. Evens skin tone

2. Tightens skin

3. Fades scars

4. Brightens

5. Treats wrinkles

UH HELLO. It's everything I want in a skin care product AND IT'S LESS THAN FIFTEEN AMERICAN DOLLARS.

Here's how I use it:

In the morning, it's the final step *before* my makeup. In the evening, it's the last step in my skincare routine.

For both morning and night, I take 3-4 drops in my palm, rub my hands together to spread out the oil, and gently *pat* the oil into my skin. (Don't rub. Never rub. No one wants saggy skin and rubbing products onto your face gets you saggy skin.)

And if I really wanna get wild, I take 10 drops of the oil and I gua sha the shit out of my face. (read about gua sha HERE).

What other essential oils are you guys using on your face?
