Shopped My Stash: Foundation

So a few posts ago I talked about going through all your products, which is what beauty youtubers adorably call "shopping your stash" with the hopes of rediscovering a product you once loved but totally forgot about.
I rarely get to do this because, frankly, everything I own is in plain sight. As much as I blog about products and am a total product junkie, I am VERY good about returning or giving away because clutter gives me anxiety and I never let is accumulate.
That said, there WAS a foundation I have owned for a while and I really liked it when I first bought it but stopped wearing because it's a bit too light for me. Even though I see it every time I pull my little makeup drawer out, I just don't think to wear it. That IS until I went to dinner with one of my high school bff's, Casey (different than my other Casey) and I looked at her skin and it was straight up luminous. AND she has very dry skin like me. So of course I asked her what she was wearing and she said, "The Josie Maran one. The one you told me to get!"
If you're familiar with Josie Maran's line, she incorporates argan oil in all of her products, this one is no different. So for my dry skin, this is perfect.
When I first heard about this this, I was a bit hesitant to pick this up because it's full coverage and I am a firm believer in only using coverage where you need it. I like to be able to see the skin and I want my skin TO LOOK like skin, not skin with foundation on it.
But I went ahead and ordered this anyway because I didn't own a full coverage foundation and sometimes you want fuller than normal coverage (special events, for example). I tried a few ways to apply it; beauty blender, dense brush, stippled brush and rubbed on with my fingertips. And weirdly, even though you're totally not supposed to apply foundations with your bare hands, it just melted into the skin. The coverage is great of course, so I didn't have a need for my usual concealer around my mouth and nose, where I have the most redness. I only used setting powder with a small brush and a tiny amount of powder to set my under eye concealer, my T-Zone, around my nose and mouth. No shiny skin in that area, otherwise you just look oily. But dewy cheeks and forehead, you look glowyyyy.
I'm so glad Casey wore it to dinner/I bought this so long so!
So tell me, have you shopped your stash recently and what did you re-discover??
