If you've been following le blog and or my instagram, you know that I've recently fallen in love with mom jeans, i.e. relaxed fit, high waisted denim. I bought a pair of Levi's 501's and wear them all the time. However, I was recently on le 'gram and I saw Eva Chen (Fashion Director at Instagram) wearing a pair of jeans that I was COVETING. The fit, the color, the length...everything about them was perfect.
I've screen capped the boomerang she posted that made my eyes go š:

Aren't they just so good??? She didn't tag them in her video but I asked her in the comments and she responded that they were Mother Denim in the Tomcat style.
I immediately googled them and saw them on Shopbop and then saw the price and x'd out really quickly like I had just accidentally clicked on porn. They were over $200 bucks. And I just don't spend that much money on clothing. Shoes, yeah sure. But AH piece of clothing?? Nah.
I continued on with my day, through the weekend, through the week and I could not stop thinking about them. For a WEEK I hemmed and haw'd. And in my opinion, if I'm thinking about something that much I might as well get them. So I did. I clicked purchase and they came in the mail and I prayed to the high heavens I would hate them so I could return them. But no. They are amazing and I'm obsessed with them.
The fit, first and foremost, is perfect. I took my normal size so the sizing is on point. Secondly, the high waist and the button fly just suck you in and make you feel GOOD, you know?? Third, the denim is SO SOFT. These are by far the most comfortable jeans I own and will ever own.
Some screen caps of the different washes:
Now, as I am extremely short, I had mine hemmed and kept the original hem on them. They are slightly cropped on me, but not as cropped as the model directly above.
These are the second pair of Mother Denim pants I own (I found a pair of faux leather pants on Therealreal.com that are also Mother and I LOVE them...those were a steal at 50 bucks) and I think it's safe to say I've found my new favorite brand of denim. Even though I'm not allowed to buy any more jeans for like, the rest of my life.
So tell me, are you familiar with Mother?
