Yeah I shave my face and I'm not even mad about it.

Ok so technically it's called derma-planing and I don't actually use a real razor. But because I unfortunately inherited my French dad's body hair and not my Asian mom's lack thereof, I've had to invest lots of time into hair removal research and what works the best for me. (That's another post)
So; I've had laser hair removal on my upper lip (bye bye 'stache!) and also on the sides of my face (see ya, sideburns!) but I still derma-plane to exfoliate any dead skin on my face and as an added benefit, get rid of any peach fuzz. My makeup applies more smoothly on my skin after I do so and, you know...a hairless face is just better than a hairy one.
I use these:

You'll see that they're not actually sharp like real razors but you can definitely do some damage so just be careful.
The method is pretty easy: Short, gentle strokes against the way the hair grows, while pulling your skin taut. Avoid dermaplaning under your eyes because the skin is way too thin and sensitive (and if you have hair there you should probably go see a doctor 'bout that) but have it everywhere else.
I always prep the razor before by dunking it in rubbing alcohol and I start with clean, dry skin. Shave, using the method above. Once that's done, I soak a cotton round in a glycolic acid toner to remove any remaining bacteria to avoid breakouts and sweep that over areas shaved and then move on to serum, moisturizer, etc.
A lot of my friends have asked why I don't just wax. I find wax to be incredibly rough on the skin of our face (except for brows). Especially above the lip, that skin is so thin and so sensitive, breakouts are almost inevitable for me AND you're setting yourself up for wrinkled skin above your lip as you age. I find this to be a gentler way to remove peach fuzz but you also get the added benefit of exfoliating that top layer of dead skin.
Win.
