Gel Eye Patches

Guys, I can't believe I haven't told you about these eye patches yet.

So ok. A couple years ago I went to visit my Lola in LA along with almost all of my filipino family. One of the must do stops in LA (for me at least) was to visit the malls in Koreatown. I had heard from multiple bloggers that the malls in Koreatown are *rife* with whole stores full of the best Korean skincare brands. (Also the designer accessory shopping is no joke but I was there to drop money on skincare.)

So we go to one of the malls and my mom, aunts, girl cousins and I went into the first skincare store we saw. I spent some time in there but then got super overwhelmed because I'd never heard of any of the brands nor do I read Korean, which is what was all over every product. So I peaced out and did my own thing. After about an hour, I started texting my family to be like, Ok hello where is everyone. And lo and behold, my mom and aunts who I practically had to DRAG to Koreatown in the first place, were still in the store talking to the Korean salespeople about what they should buy. And then they proceeded to spend another 30 minutes buying the sales person's recommendations. (They even bought some stuff for Lola. How sweet, right.)

When we got back to the house, my mom showed me her goods and one of them were these gel eye patches:

I hadn't really heard about gel eye patches until then so she let me try some. Evidently, the saleslady told her that you should sleep in them. And when you wake up, the skin under your eyes is tight and really fresh and moisturized.

So I tried them that evening before bed (after drinking wine and eating my Lola's adobo...which is the perfect combination for puffy eyes) and I was actually amazed the next morning. No puffiness, super smooth, really hydrated. I looked like I had highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones, that's how hydrated the area was.

My mom bought hers at the store for $45 if memory serves me correctly. I bought them on prime for $19.99 🎉 (and of course, I linked them for you above).

I just finished my first tub and I was shocked to see that not one of the patches dried out- after two years! I also really like the scent. It's not fruity, definitely a bit perfumed but a really fresh and clean scent.

Not sure if you've been noticing but eye patches are all the rage now. Peter Thomas Roth has three different kinds and Tarte came out with some as well. But I guess Koreans, who are at the height of skincare trends, having been using them for way longer.

So tell me, do you use gel eye patches? Which ones have you tried and liked? Any I should stay away from?
