A Peek Inside: My Shopping Cart

A habit I've had since I started online shopping (many moons ago) is filling up my shopping carts at the online stores I visit most and then saving the carts and clicking out of the store. This gives me time to really think about if I actually NEED it or if I "need" it. With clothing, most of the time I don't "need" it and my size sells out and I don't feel too bad about it. With beauty/skincare, they don't really ever sell out so I constantly have things in my Sephora shopping cart. Main reason being, if I find myself inside a Sephora store, I immediately get overwhelmed and have to pull up my shopping cart to see the things I wanted to try or need to repurchase. If I don't have them in my cart, I forget about it and them get so annoyed with myself for forgetting.

So I thought it would be fun to show you what's in my Sephora cart.

The first product is something I just read about this morning on my Flipboard (have you guys heard of this? It's an aggregator that essentially allows you to curate your own online magazine, pulling articles from any and all online publications with topics you're interested in. Mine include skincare, national and international news, fashion, healthy eating and fitness. My mom told me about it and I've been super into it ever since.)

So ok, back to the product. It's an essence (read a previous blogpost about what an essence actually IS, HERE) from Caudalie, called the Vinoperfect Concentrated Brightening Essence. I'm currently halfway through my Missha Essence (on my 5th bottle) and was intrigued by the Caudalie Essence because of the glycolic acid, which is great for lightening dark pigmentation and sloughing off dead skin cells, while also hydrating. I'd never heard of an essence that has an acid in it so I'm totally intrigued.

The next product is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in a color that's probably 8 shades too dark for me. It's a foundation so many beauty youtubers go on and on about- but because it's full coverage and I have dry skin, I never thought I'd be able to wear it (plus I don't love full coverage foundations). I thought it would cling to dry patches and the long wear formula would dry me out. That is until I saw one of my favorite beauty gurus with the same skin type as me, wear it on insta stories and her skin looked actually airbrushed (and there was no filter. I asked and she responded 🎉) And now I want MY skin to look airbrushed. So it's in my cart to remind me to get a sample of it next time I'm in Sephora.

The final product in my cart is a repurchase. Repurchases for me are so boring; nothing exciting, you know how it's going to work; there's just nothing new and special about it. HOWEVER. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair is an *incredible* serum and I kind of can't live without it. Hydrates and brightens really effectively.

So ok, tell me. Am I the only one who does this? If not, I wanna know what's in your carts! Tell me everything!

Oh also, have you guys used any of these products?
